Verizon Wireless Earns Top NYC Honors in Latest RootMetrics Report

Verizon Wireless

Verizon Wireless has once again earned the top honors in New York in the latest RootMetrics RootScore Report, released on Tuesday. The report covers the first half of 2014, and measures the performance of the big four wireless carriers — Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint. The higher the RootScore, the better the performance. The latest report shows Verizon Wireless scored highest in Overall Performance in New York and also won the National RootScore Award for Overall Performance.

“With more than $400 million invested in our Network throughout the New York Metro region last year, it’s no surprise that we’ve won in Overall Performance in New York in RootMetrics’ latest study,” says Andrew Testa, PR Manager, Verizon Wireless New York Metro. “We are committed to providing our customers with the fastest, most reliable 4G LTE Network that they’ve come to expect from us.”

The study measured the four largest U.S. wireless providers in individual states in six categories: Overall Performance, Reliability, Speed, Call, Text and Data. RootMetrics has studied network performance on a state-by-state level – with Verizon Wireless capturing top honors in 48 of 50 states across the country. Verizon also won or tied for:

  • 48 states for Overall Performance
  • 44 states for Reliability
  • 45 states for Speed
  • 46 states for Data
  • 44 states for Call
Verizon Wireless, which operates the nation’s largest and most reliable 4G LTE network in country, offers 4G LTE coverage to 98 percent of the U.S. population.
